The Sabine Pass Academic UIL ‘Shark Meat’ Invitational was held on Saturday, Feb. 28.
In speaking events, junior Aiden Franzen placed 3rd in Poetry and senior Cecelia Gibson placed 4th in Prose.
In journalism events, junior Gaby Chavez placed 2nd in News Writing and 3rd in Feature Writing while Franzen placed 3rd in Copy Editing and 5th in News Writing.
“I’m really glad that I’ve been doing well at the meets I’ve gone to,” Chavez said. “I’m excited for the District competition.”
The Literacy Criticism team placed 2nd due to Gibson’s individual 5th place win.
The UIL Academic District meet will be held on Thursday, March 26 and hosted by East Chambers.
