Junior Chase Rozean was selected as a RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) winner, through the Spindletop Rotary Club in Beaumont; he attended the RYLA camp at Pineywoods Baptist Encampment in Woodlake Jan. 9-11.
International RYLA winners are selected by local Rotary clubs based on leadership potential, academic achievement, character, and community involvement. The program seeks well-rounded high school juniors who demonstrate a strong capacity for growth as future leaders.
“I’m so grateful to have spent the weekend around such a large group of welcoming leaders,” Rozean said, “It was an amazing opportunity that I will remember for the rest of my life.”
RYLA campers are invited to attend their Rotary meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20 in Beaumont where they will share highlights of the weekend.
