Academic UIL members attended the Nederland Invitational meet on Saturday, Feb. 21 under the direction of coordinator Corey Smith.
In LD Debate, sophomore Ace Henley placed 3rd and junior Rylan Fontenot placed 4th. In CX Debate, juniors Christian Carter and Kullen Spencer placed 5th. In Informative Speaking, Carter placed 2nd while junior Mikeala Quave placed 4th. In addition, Spencer placed 4th in Persuasive Speaking.
“This was a great opportunity to learn,” Carter said. “Kullen and I now feel more prepared for CX and extemporaneous speaking.”
The next invitational will be held at Sabine Pass High School on Saturday, Feb. 28.
