The Buccaneer Band attended the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation on Wednesday, April 1, at Nederland High School under the leadership of Band Director Stormy Semich.
Upon evaluation, the band earned straight ones from both the concert and sight-reading portions of the assessment. Because of their straight ones, they received a Sweepstakes 1st Division trophy.
“Words cannot express how proud I am of this group of human beings. They have risen to every challenge I have placed in their path and have handled it with grace and poise,” Semich said. “The growth they have shown over the past few months is monumental, and I am so excited to see what goals they continue to achieve.”
The band will be performing their spring concert on Thursday, May 7.
