FFA students competed at the annual San Antonio Stock and Rodeo Show last Tuesday on Feb. 17 where eight high school students earned placements at the competition.
Freshman, Jessica Bordelon placed 9th in her Simbrah Class.
Sophomores Madison Holifield placed 6th in her Simbrah Class, Rebekah Gibson 8th in her Simbrah Class, Rylee Fitzgerald 9th in her Brahman Class, and Kolt Kraehnke who placed 1st in his Brahman Class where he also won the Calf Division Champion and the Showmanship Award for the entire Brahman Show.
“It’s a blessing to receive this honor because of all the time I’ve had to put in training my animal,” Kraehnke said. “For Houston, my goal is to win the whole Brahman show as well as the Showmanship Award.”
Juniors Teal Kraehnke placed 2nd in his Brahman Class while Aiden Baker placed 2nd in his Brahman Class as well.
Senior Ava Bone placed 7th in her Beefmaster Class.
FFA members will begin showing at the Houston Livestock Show on Wednesday, March 4.
