FFA members showed their animals in Winnie’s Gulf Coast Classic Livestock Show Nov. 22-23.
For cattle, freshmen Jessica Bordelon and Samantha Espinal, sophomores Madi Hardy, Madison Holifield, Kolt Kraehnke, and Rylee Fitzgerald, juniors Aiden Baker and Teal Kraehnke, as well as seniors Tyrus Bordelon, Ava Bone, and Jermaul Hayes showed. For goats, senior Maycee Mitchell showed.
Holifield won Grand Champion Breed for her Simbrah Heifer. Teal Kraehnke won Grand Champion Steer, Grand Champion Sr Steer Showmanship, Top Brahman Exhibitor, Reserve Champion All Breed Heifer, and 4th Overall All Breed Heifer. Fitzgerald won Reserve Champion Steer and Reserve Champion Senior Steer Showmanship. Hardy won Grand Champion Intermediate Heifer Showmanship. Espinal won Champion Simmental Heifer and 10th Place Overall Heifer.
“Winning my first buckle is one of my biggest accomplishments, and it will mean more to me than anyone knows,” Holifield said. “When you work hard for something, it pays off.”
FFA members will travel to the Fort Worth Stockyards, to show their projects, in the Jan 22-27 Fort Worth Livestock Show.
