National Honor Society members volunteered at the annual Bike Around the Bay biking event hosted by the Galveston Bay Foundation on Saturday, Oct. 18.
Volunteers included Ty Ardoin, Christian Davis, Agustin Granados, Koby Jones, Hayden LeVeck, David Lopez, Delilah Perez, Melany Palacios, Zoe Selby, Tyler Stevens, and Ray Stramecki under the direction of Co-Sponsors Whitney Dreaden and Matt DeYoung.
“I am so proud of our students,” Dreaden said. “They were up early on a Saturday morning, after Homecoming, volunteering their time for this awesome cause.”
The 2025 Bike Around the Bay Breakpoint Contest results were announced on Thursday, Oct. 30. ECHS NHS was named the Best Supply Truck Support award winner for its efficiency and energy, according to the event’s Facebook page.
“It was nice for us to be recognized for having the best decorated stop,” Perez said. “I was also excited to be able to apply for the Bike Around the Bay scholarship just for working the event.”
NHS will volunteer for different Christmas events, including Cookies with Santa, at Winnie Dodge and the Chambers County Library Christmas party.
