FFA had nine different teams compete in the Ricebelt District LDE competition on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Students traveled to Mont Belvieu under the direction of Sponsors Brad Bertrand, Cameron McGhee, and Kaley McGhee.
President Cecelia Gibson placed 4th in Senior Creed Speaking. Emily Lopez placed 5th in Senior Spanish Creed Speaking.
“Our teams have been working very hard to compete at this level,” Gibson said. “While we didn’t get the places that we wanted, we got really good feedback that our chapter can carry into next year.”
Dalton Dishman, Cecelia Gibson, Jermaul Hayes, Kyra Perryman and Aliyah Reddell earned 6th place in Ag Advocacy. Tanner Broussard, Ava Bone, Madison Holifield and Kolt Kraehnke placed 6th in Ag Skills Demonstration. Teal Kraehnke, Hank Huff and Tucker Cart were 5th in Radio Broadcasting.
Madison Hardy placed 8th in the Job Interview category while Jacob Ebner, Rylee Fitzgerald, Alex Lopez and Rebekah Gibson competed in the Senior Quiz category, with Gibson receiving 5th High Individual.
FFA Floral Design students will compete in Celina for the Nov. 6-7 Floral Contest.
