Last Friday, the varsity baseball boys won their game against Warren on Youth Night. The little league baseball players were invited to run bases and spend time with the players in the dugout, along with softball.
With senior Hayden Leveck as pitcher and freshman Case Rayburn as catcher, the boys started out 0-2; however, senior Koby Jones soon had a home run.
“Since Warren already scored two runs, and Reid got on base, I knew I had a job to do,” Jones said. “I got down to an 0-2 count, so I just relaxed and caught a barrel which ended up being a home run, tying the game.”
Freshman Grant Jones and sophomore Hank Huff followed up with two doubles, propelling them ahead with five runs going into the second inning. The Bucs were victorious over the Warriers with a final score of 13-3.
The baseball team will travel to Hardin next week to battle the Hornets on Tuesday, March 31.
