Varsity and JV boys soccer played against HF in their final District game on Monday, March 9, under the direction of Coaches Jackie Brown and Julian Huizar.
JV won 4-0 with goals from junior Chase Rozean and freshman Nathan Guerrero as well as freshman Jonathan Torres who scored twice.
“Getting the first goal in the final JV game was exciting,” Rozean said. “I look forward to seeing how varsity does in the Playoffs.”
Varsity won 6-1 with goals from sophomore Max Vargas, junior David Lopez, and seniors Bryan Chavez, Ricardo Lopez, Ivan Vargas, and Leonel Turrubiarte.
“It felt nice to get a goal because it was rewarding after a lot of hard work,” Ivan Vargas said. “I’m looking forward to the first round of Playoffs against Jasper this Friday.”
Varsity will play a scrimmage game on Monday, March 16, in La Porte before the first playoff game against Jasper at Beaumont’s Doggett Stadium on Friday, March 20.
