The varsity volleyball team was victorious against the Kountze Lionettes when they won their first three sets on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
“We previously lost against them in a first round,” junior libero Jimena Vargas said. “So I was excited to sweep them in our rematch.”
Following senior outside Jayda Leday’s roll-shot kill, sophomore setter MaKayla Montoya set a one to junior middle blocker Mikeala Quave, allowing her to spike the ball and finish the match.
“The highlight of the game was when I scored the very last point we needed to win,” Quave said. “I’m happy because we really needed a win for the chance to go to Playoffs.”
The Lady Bucs will fight against the Buna Cougars next Tuesday, Oct. 21 in a home game where they will celebrate Senior Night.
