The boys’ soccer teams played against the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns on Tuesday, Feb 17, under the direction of Head Coach Jackie Brown.
For varsity, senior Bryan Chavez and freshman Xabi Morales each scored a goal in the first half. Chavez then came back to score another goal in the second half. Junior David Lopez added a final header goal, causing a 4-2 victory.
“I knew we weren’t playing at our best at first,” Chavez said, “Luckily, I was given the opportunity to bring our team back.”
The junior varsity team won 6-1 with two goals from junior Christian Lopez. In addition sophmore Geovannie Hernandez scored as well as freshmen Urijah Rozean, Erik Olvera, and Jonathan Torres.
“I feel good about scoring two goals.” Lopez said, “I feel like we have good chemistry, as a team, and hopefully we’ll win District.”
The Bucs are now 3-1 in District, and will face the Liberty Panthers on Friday, Feb. 27.
