The swim team competed in the Hudson Duck Dash swim meet, in Lufkin, on Saturday, Jan. 3 under the direction of sponsor Leslie Todd.
The boys team finished 3rd overall. Individual Highlights include sophomore Drew Frederick who finished 7th in the 100 butterfly and 9th in the 100 freestyle. Senior Koby Jones placed 5th in the 50 freestyle and 4th in the 100 freestyle. Senior Hayden LeVeck finished 1st in the 200 freestyle and 7th in the 100 backstroke. Senior Reid Todd placed 6th in the 50 freestyle and 6th in the 100 backstroke.
LeVeck, Todd, Jones, and Frederick placed first in the 200 freestyle and the 400 freestyle.
“This weekend was excellent, ” LeVeck said. “I hope to go out with a bang my senior year and qualify for State in all four of my events.”
In addition, sophomore Jayla Coffey placed 3rd in the 100 butterfly and 8th in the 50 freestyle.
The swim team will compete in the District Meet, on Friday, Jan. 16 at Galena Park.
