The girls varsity basketball team beat the Hamshire Fannett Longhorns on Tuesday, Nov. 11 with a final score of 55-38.
While consistently staying in the lead, freshman post Presley Simino was the highest scoring player of the game with 28 points. Junior shooting guard Jayden Smith was the second highest scoring player, gaining 11 points total including a 3-pointer.
“I wasn’t expecting to get 28 points, but I wouldn’t have been able to do that without everyone else. It was a team effort,” Simino said. “I am excited for District, and I think we’re going to make it to Playoffs.”
The Lady Bucs will travel to Port Arthur next week for another Pre-District game against Port Arthur Memorial on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
