The varsity boy’s basketball team beat the Anahuac Panthers 88-51 on Friday, Jan. 23 in a home game.
While keeping a strong lead throughout the game, junior Evan Callahan scored 22 points, junior Cam Dillard scored 21, and senior Dayvon Wallace scored 20. Junior Colby West also had a double-double with 10 points and 13 assists.
“I was feeling good in warm-ups, so I went into the game confident,” Callahan said. “I was also pumped that I got my first 20-ball in my career.”
This win makes the boys’ record 22-5 and 6-1 in District.
“We played very well defensively; we caused 35 turnovers,” Coach Todd Sutherland said. “All players played great, and I am proud of the three who got over 20 points and of Colby.”
The Runnin’ Bucs will take on the Wildcats, in Kirbyville, on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
