FFA members competed at Liberty’s Trinity Valley Exposition, Oct. 10-18, under the direction of Sponsor Cameron McGhee. Brothers, Teal and Kolt Kraehnke both took home Grand Championship titles.
On TVE’s Oct. 14 competition, Kolt Kraehnke won Grand Champion in the American Commercial Heifer division.
“This is my first time winning an actual county show. It feels awesome, Dude,” Kolt Kraehnke said. “It was very hard raising my heifer, Snow; there were many challenges, but we made it through. With cows like this, the work is an everyday thing.”
On TVE’s Oct. 15 competition, Teal Kraehnke won Showmanship Senior Division and Overall as well as Grand Champion for the Market Steer division and Grand Champion for Grey Brahman Overall.
“We’re just working every day, in the barn, most of the day from before school until 11:00 at night sometimes,” Teal Kraehnke said. “It feels amazing. It helps you win whenever you show in the arena so much.”
In addition to Teal Kraehnke’s 1st place, Masen Bouse placed 5th in class and Rylee Fitzgerald placed 6th in class for the Market Steer Show.
Teal Kraehnke also placed 2nd, in class, for the Market Swine Show’s ‘Reserve Medium Weight’ division while Kolt Kraehnke placed 5th.
Rebekah Gibson placed 6th in class at the Market Goat Show and with her heifer, she placed 3rd in the Simbrah Class while Cecelia Gibson placed 2nd and Madison Holifield placed 3rd.
In addition to Teal Kraehnke’s 1st place in class for Grey Brahman, Rylee Fitzgerald placed 1st in her class, Madison Hardy placed 2nd in her class, and Kolt Kraehnke placed 3rd in his class.
Ava Bone placed 2nd in Beefmaster’s Class while Masen Bouse placed 3rd.
