The varsity football team played Rice Consolidated High School, in Altair’s Rice Veterans’ Memorial Stadium, on Friday, Aug. 29.
The Buccaneers secured a win with a score of 35-10 against the Raiders in their first pre-district game.
“I caught the snap and I was thinking ‘I gotta get in the endzone’,” quarterback Koby Jones said. ” I was running through, someone tried to tackle me, so I just lowered my shoulder.”
The Bucs will face off against Hardin Jefferson, in the first home game of the season, on Friday, Sept. 5.
